Los Angeles, Calif. (December 14, 2024) – Humanity Heroes, the beacon of compassion in Los Angeles, is set to be ignited by its highly-anticipated annual Backpack Stuffing Event. Resources are being marshaled by the non-profit organization to assemble 5,000 backpacks filled with 23 essential items, which will be distributed to homeless families and individuals nationwide. A star-studded lineup of celebrities and dedicated community members is being rallied to support this noble cause.

At the heart of this altruistic movement, a wave of empathy was sparked by non-profit founder Michael ‘BigMike’ Straumietis, whose encounter with the homeless denizens of Skid Row has since been transformed into a lifeline of hope. Over $1 million worth of vital supplies have been successfully channeled by Humanity Heroes into the hands of 70,000+ homeless individuals, with demographics ranging from youth to honored veterans being served.

A charitable footprint has been recently expanded through collaborations with esteemed Los Angeles foundations, including Covenant House, LA LGBTQ Center, National Veterans Foundation, and LA City Parks & Recreation. A trajectory of unparalleled impact is being mapped out by the organization heading into 2025. Partnerships are being bolstered, and significant efforts are being planned to be amplified in Skid Row, with additional outreach events being promised to engage with and uplift the community.
