“My little boy has returned from 3 weeks inter-railing,” Allsopp wrote on X, referring to the popular European train pass, Interrail. She explained that her son, Oscar, along with his 16-year-old friend, traveled through major cities like Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Berlin. Allsopp concluded her post by saying, “If we’re afraid, our children will also be afraid; if we let go, they will fly.”
While many defended Allsopp’s parenting choice, others expressed concern about the decision to let teenagers travel alone. The conversation quickly escalated, making headlines across British media and even drawing attention from UK social services.
