Sony has introduced its innovative RGB LED TV technology, aiming to set new standards in television display quality. Unlike traditional LED TVs that use white backlights, Sony’s RGB LED TVs employ red, green, and blue lights directly at the source. This approach offers higher brightness, reduced blooming, and more precise color representation. The prototype showcased superior control over blooming and richer hues compared to current mini-LED and OLED models, achieving 99% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. Additionally, Sony’s technology enhances off-axis viewing performance, ensuring consistent brightness and color saturation regardless of viewing angle. The first RGB LED TVs from Sony are expected to hit the market in 2026, reflecting the company’s commitment to advancing television display technology.
